The Navigli canals, perfected by Leonardo Da Vinci in the 16th century, are now one of the major attractions while visiting Milan.
Those who wish to discover less known areas around Milan can enjoy a cruise along the Naviglio. Itineraries include a journey starting from Alzaia Naviglio Grande 4.
A few meters after, you can admire the Vicolo dei Lavandai, one of the many wash-houses where women for centuries have cleansed the clothes. Continuing the navigation there is Palazzo Galloni, where an engraving center is located. This is followed by one of the most beautiful monumental complexes composed by the Church, the Bridge, and the San Cristoforo washhouse. Past the church, the boat came back and pass under the bridge called “Scodellino” and then enter into the Darsena, once an authentic port of interchange, among the largest inland ports in the Mediterranean.
